This is a customer car that came to us for some service work to get it ready to be sold. While it had been a runner and driver, the key had broken in the ignition lock in a way that prevented the car from being operated. We removed the steering wheel and shaft and removed the column to get the lock out. The lock was then sent to a professional Mercedes locksmith to be rebuilt. While we were waiting for that, we had a leaky radiator re-cored and did some other small things like fixing the window winder handles.
Since getting it back together we have been working to address issues that come up when an older vehicle sits for a while. Most recently we discovered that the fuel pump was failing, and have replaced that.
This is a one-owner from new car that has not been restored. It has a patina and is certainly not a trailer queen. But it has a long history and was always loved by its owner, who passed away in the last year.
While not perfect, it shows really well, it runs and drives, and with some additional maintenance it would make a great weekend /car show car. Photo gallery below should give you a pretty good idea of the overall condition.
UPDATE: Sold and gone to its new home.
